What is an Oil Separator?

Oil separators are most common in truck yards or Mechanical work shops where vehicle oils and grease are used on a day to day base. Oil Separators separate the oil from the water through a series or process within the oil separator chamber and the clean water is then discharged into the main sewer. Oil Separators need to be serviced regularly to ensure they work at their optimum and to prevent oil from entering our sewer systems.

How Does an Oil Separator work?

Oil Seperators work by having control of both fluid velocity and pressure. These forces the coax non-emulsified waste from water by allowing high density contaminants to fall into a sludge collection area at the bottom of the vessel, and oil droplets and low density suspended solids to rise to the top of the vessel. The oil and suspended solids are then drained off into a waste tank for disposal.

Once the system is installed we can offer you periodically inspections and servicing so you avoid any down time and loss of production, at Vivian Plumbing we know the importance of running a business and the cost involved when things don’t function correctly this is why we see preventive maintenance is the key to ensure replacement does not become an option.
